Joy Spillis Lundeen leads the construction practice at Bilzin Sumberg, where she manages complex disputes for major Florida developers across stadiums, infrastructure, and mixed-use asset classes. Lundeen is currently lead counsel in a $15 million construction defect action involving the Miami Formula 1 Racetrack, a case set for trial in March 2026.

She also represents the Tampa Housing Authority in a defect matter for a LEED Silver-certified affordable senior housing project, involving claims against over 15 subcontractors. Spillis Lundeen is a longtime Board Member and past chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, where she has personally mentored youth for decades.

Recognized by Chambers USA as a "superb trial attorney," she is one of only two female Practice Group Leaders at her firm. Her deep industry roots stem from her father, Peter Spillis, the renowned architect of many of Miami's iconic buildings.

Since joining Bilzin Sumberg in 2020, she has actively cultivated talent and encouraged diverse perspectives within the construction law community. Spillis Lundeen is known for her ability to connect with juries in high-stakes courtroom proceedings.
