Kelly Steele demonstrated extraordinary courage and purpose when she launched STEELE Architecture, PLLC, in May 2025, specifically to focus on affordable housing and community-centric design. Her first project under her own seal was a pavilion for the Alexander Youth Network, reflecting her "impact over income" philosophy.

Beyond her professional practice, Steele is a tireless advocate for the vulnerable; she has spent 13 years volunteering for the Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, helping to raise more than $350,000 in donations. Her hands-on approach included leading the design of a high-performance shelter for the organization, where she now serves on the Board of Directors.

A recognized leader within CREW Charlotte, Steele has received numerous accolades, including the 2025 Volunteer of the Year award from the Go Jen Go Foundation.
