Ann Shell-Johnson, Director of Property Management at Mapletree, was instrumental in building the firm’s U.S. operations from the ground up. Since joining as one of the first domestic employees in 2018, Shell-Johnson has grown a two-person operation into a 40-member team managing a massive $15.5 billion portfolio across 36 states. She architected operating policies for four business lines, including logistics and data centers, and founded the company’s U.S. Sustainability team, which has earned 13 LEED certifications. In the past fiscal year, Shell-Johnson oversaw property management for 454 assets and played a key role in preparing properties for more than $2 billion in asset sales. She is also leading the groupwide rollout of new financial management and e-approval systems, reflecting her expanding global influence within the organization. A 35-year veteran of the industry, Shell-Johnson views property management as a "three-legged stool" focusing on financial performance, customer service, and building operations. Her framework for operational excellence has turned Mapletree into a major force in the American market, ensuring that the company’s global standards are seamlessly translated for domestic success.
