Rachel McRoskey, a partner at Akerman LLP, is a specialist in self-storage and data center transactions who has successfully closed some of the most intricate deals in Southern California. In the past 24 months, McRoskey has managed 20 self-storage acquisitions nationwide totaling more than $500 million and negotiated a $100 million joint venture with Ares Management. She also serves as lead acquisition counsel for a 111-acre "powered land" data center assemblage in Lockhart, Texas. Recently, she led the acquisition of a 100-acre winery in Santa Barbara County, helping her client become one of the largest property owners in the region. McRoskey is a recipient of Akerman’s Pro Bono Impact Award and serves as the Los Angeles Office Community Impact Team Leader. After the 2025 Palisades fire destroyed her local schools, she committed herself to helping the Methodist Preschool of Pacific Palisades with their temporary relocation and assisted community members with rebuilding efforts. She also mentors junior real estate associates through bi-weekly professional growth sessions. Her ability to lead through uncertainty makes her a standout among her peers.
