CONWAY, AR-Ground will break today on the 130,000-sf Central Heart and Surgical Hospital. The 49-bed project is slated to open in mid-2010.

The developer, Conway Surgical Hospital LLC, consists of a partnership between local physicians and Cirrus Health of Dallas. A spokeswoman with Cirrus Health declined to discuss the cost of the project, which will sit on 15 acres at the corner of Exchange Avenue and United Drive. Area sources believe that the hospital will cost $17 million to $25 million to build.

The acreage has enough room for a medical office building, but the spokeswoman tells that the office component is still in the planning stages. The hospital will have eight operating suites, 25 medical and surgical beds and 24 cardiac beds.
