Clifford Deveny, president of Summa Physicians Inc., tells GlobeSt.com that his firm will occupy most of the building. The other offices will be leased out multi-tenant, he says.

When finished in spring 2010, the building will offer outpatient services, a physician medical office building and an ambulatory surgery center, as well as onsite diagnostics, physical and occupational therapy and lab services. "It's expensive to build a hospital. The trend these days is to build office buildings that can offer these services to residents," Deveny says. The project is about a mile from Medina General Hospital.

The new center is on 10 acres, with another 20 acres secured to allow for future development. The Medina area has a lot of demand for medical services, Deveny says. "The northeast is one of the fastest growing areas in the state," he says.

Deveny and Signet would not reveal the construction price. Summa is also behind the new $100 million Crystal Clinic Orthopedic Center in Akron, a five-story facility going up near Akron City Hospital.
