The company has just broken ground on a 12,330-square-foot private school in Gainesville, VA. The facility, Minnieland Day School at Heritage Hunt, is located at 7101 Heritage Village Plaza. Designed by Parker & Associates Architects, the building will house eight classrooms, two infant rooms, a kitchen, and a laundry room. It is also breaking ground on a 50,000-square-foot fitness center in Brambleton Town Center in Loudoun County. Designed by Barry Dunn & Assoc., the facility just received the necessary financing to move forward with construction, Shea says.
Other projects in Hubert's pipeline include one base building and two interior construction projects totaling 29,600 square feet in the DC area that it recently completed. The company has been receiving a steady flow of such smaller projects, including religious temples, community centers for housing complexes and country club facilities, Shea says. "I wouldn't call this a recovery yet, but it is interesting to see which deals are getting funded." Despite the recession, as one example, people seem to be maintaining their health club memberships--at least enough for the Brambleton Fitness Center to move forward.
