The building and the 70 acres it sits on were listed for $11.5 million according to reports
The distribution center at 5040 N.W. U.S. Highway 24 was the largest property on the market in Topeka and will nearly quadruple PTMW's holdings. The company, which manufactures railroad signal houses, will move its 140 employees from another Topeka location according to an article in the Kansas City Business Journal.
Whitney Kerr of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker's Kansas City office brokered the deal on behalf of the buyer and the seller.
The property was put on the market during the summer after Payless shuttered the center in May. At the time, Payless had operated out of the facility for 30 years and had up to 600 employees working from the center.
