LOS ANGELES-Jones Lang LaSalle has named Michael Prabhu to the newly created position of director of property management for its Southwest region as the company seeks to expand its property management portfolio. Prabhu, who previously served as the director of operations for JLL's Los Angeles region, will be responsible for growing the firm's property management portfolio in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

Additionally, Prabhu "will work closely with the company's leasing and capital markets professionals to thoroughly integrate its service platform for institutional and investor clients," according to a statement from JLL.

Jan Pope, Southwest market director for Jones Lang LaSalle, pointed out that the creation of the new position and the appointment of Prabhu are part of the company's focus on expanding its integrated property management, agency leasing and capital markets services to owners and investors both locally and nationally.

In his previous job as the director of operations for JLL's Los Angeles region, Prabhu had day-to-day responsibilities for a four-office, 65-broker team. Before joining Jones Lang LaSalle, he served as an asset manager for Maguire Properties (now MPG Office Trust) with responsibilities for overseeing a portfolio of properties in downtown Los Angeles and West Los Angeles totaling three million square feet with direct management of 250 employees. Prabhu is also a court-appointed receiver. JLL says that, in his new role, Prabhu will marshal his receivership expertise to provide specialized services to distressed clients.
