BALTIMORE- Home Properties Inc., a New York-based apartment realestate investment trust, has bought Charleston Place, an 858-unitapartment complex in Ellicott City, for $103 million.

The apartment complex, which is almost 97% occupied, containssingle- and double-bedroom apartments, which are rented out for$1,073 per month. The firm is planning to invest about $6.8 millioninto the building in order to repair kitchens and bathrooms, andperform other maintenance work to improve the property.
