LOS ANGELES-CB Richard Ellis Group has expanded the leadership in its capital markets businesses, naming Chris Ludeman to join Brian Stoffers as co-president of CBRE Capital Markets and promoting Spencer Levy from senior managing director to executive managing director. New York City-based Ludeman, in his expanded role, will provide client-facing leadership for the company's office, industrial and retail investment properties efforts along with its Institutional Group, Global Property Advisors and Private Client Group activities.
Stoffers, who is based in Houston, will continue to lead CBRE's Debt and Equity Finance, agency and loan servicing businesses, as well as oversee the multi-housing, hotel/lodging and investment banking practices. Ludeman will continue as president of Americas Brokerage, overseeing CBRE's tenant rep and agency leasing business lines.
Spencer, who is based in Baltimore and New York City, takes on expanded responsibilities as a key client service and business development leader. He will continue to co-manage CBRE's Restructuring and Recovery Services activities, oversee its auction practice and direct Capital Markets Strategic Accounts in coordination with Asset Services and Brokerage.

Stoffers
In addition, within the next few months CB Richard Ellis will appoint Capital Markets practice leaders in the office, industrial and retail property sectors as well supplement the company's multi-housing practice with the addition of an investment sales practice leader. Additionally, a production leader for the Debt and Equity Finance practice will be announced shortly.
Mike Lafitte, president of CBRE, said that the new appointments are designed to "further strengthen our Capital Markets platform and client service capabilities." He added that the strengthening of the company's brokerage leadership during the past few years enables Ludeman to devote a significant portion of his time to expanding the depth and breadth of CBRE's Capital Markets business. Last year, for example, CBRE added John Frager (office) to the brokerage leadership team of Anthony Buono (retail) and Ed Schreyer (industrial).

Levy
During his nearly 30 years with CBRE, Ludeman has served in several key management roles, including president, Transaction Management and Global Corporate Services. Before his national and international roles, he served in several regional and local market leadership positions across the US.
As senior managing director in Capital Markets, Levy has been responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of more than 300 investment sales and debt/equity finance professionals in the eastern region of the US. He also co-leads with Ken Pearson CBRE's Recovery and Restructuring Services, which services financial institutions and government entities with real estate services required for both REO and whole loan assets.
