DETROIT-A new mixed-use project will break ground on Tuesday in Detroit's Midtown district. The $12-million project, called the Auburn, will create 11 retail storefronts and 58 rental apartments on an empty parcel located on the southeast corner of Cass and Canfield.

The project will also create 97 parking spaces on the back side of the L-shaped building. The Auburn is designed by Detroit-based Kraemer Design Group. Midtown Detroit Inc. and Roxbury Group are working on the project, which will open in August 2012. For the full story, go to The Detroit Free Press .
