NEW YORK CITY-A new hotel is coming on the vacant land at 136 W. 42nd St. Highgate Holdings is planning to construct a 36-story inn comprising 282 rooms on the 42nd Street lot.

The building will have stores on the first 3 floors, a restaurant on the 4th floor and guest rooms from 5th to 35th floors. The new hotel is expected to be completed by mid-2013. Highgate has signed a contract to sell the hotel to $128 million to Diamond Rock Hospitality. For the full story, go to New York Post .
