WASHINGTON, DC-CBRE has made a key appointment to its management team: real estate broker Louis G. Christopher has joined the firm as vice chairman. His role at CBRE will be to focus on tenant representation on a local, national and global level.

CBRE points to Christopher’s track record in the industry as it welcomes him to the firm. “Lou is the consummate professional with a proven track record of excellence and a strong commitment to providing his clients with the best real estate strategies and services,” John Germano, executive managing director for CBRE in the Baltimore/Washington market, said in a prepared statement. “He brings additional depth to CBRE’s tenant representation team here in the Washington, DC area as well as nationally and globally,” Germano adds. CBRE was unable to return a call to GlobeSt.com in time for publication.

Christopher joins CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield. He was chairman of the firm’s Tenant Advisory Group and the company’s top producer in the Washington region every year since 2007. He’s also been counted as one of C&W’s top 10 brokers globally for three of the last four years.

Christopher’s other accolades include several awards, such as being named 2010 Broker of the Year by the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors and recognition by Real Estate Forum—an ALM sister publication to GlobeSt.com—as one of the top 25 brokers in the US.

Earlier this year, CBRE appointed Pat Marr vice chairman—the third real estate professional and the first leasing specialist in the Washington, DC region to receive this designation.

Another recent addition to the CBRE team came in October when Brian Wood joined as vice president. Like Christopher, his focus is tenant representation. Also in October, Thomas Rogers joined the firm as senior vice president, Global Corporate Services.
