
ESCONDIDO, CA-Westfield Corp. has started construction on a renovation project to improve its aging mall in Escondido. The $55-million makeover will include new restaurants, a children's play area and a three-story Target as well as upgrade such as new floors, railings, benches and lightings.
The city extended Westfield's lease term for the 83-acre mall to 2053 from 2038 as part of a deal signed in January. Construction is expected to be completed in December. For the full story, go to The North County Times .
