The Silent Generation

Last week I had an opportunity to focus on the senior living business, and for the first time I learned about the "Silent Generation," our population born between 1925 and 1945. I admit that I have never heard of that term. I am well aware of the Baby Boomer generation because I am one of them, and Gen Y and Gen X because my children are among them, but the Silent Generation is new to me. As I've learned, this group is among the richest in the retirement category, and the first to confront the challenges of elder and acute care. More importantly for the real estate business, they have significant needs on the retirement housing front. The opportunity to serve the Silent Generation is enormous. To all of you – Boomers, Gen Y- and X-ers – go for it. Grandma, grandpa, great grandma and great grandpa are ready to be served.
