NEW YORK CITY-The City Planning Commission has voted in favor of the Seward Park mixed-use development project. The proposed plan for the Lower East Side project, which has been under consideration for nearly five decades, calls for turning city-owned plots into a 1.65-million-square-foot development with 60% residential and 40% commercial space.
The seven-acre site is located south of Delancey Street, adjacent to Williamsburg Bridge. The plan still needs to get final approval from the City Council as well as mayor. For the full story, go to Crain's New York Business .
