(RealShare New Jersey comes to the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ, September 19.)
NEWARK-Cambridge Security Services, a leading national security company, is relocating its headquarters and National Command Center from Manhattan to Newark. Cambridge Security Services’ new 10,000 facility is located in downtown Newark, at 1100 Raymond Avenue/90 Mulberry Street.
Cambridge Security president Stanley Czwakiel says the company elected to move establish its 24-hour national communications network and headquarters in Newark primarily because of cost efficiencies, including affordable real estate.
“We took a long hard look at what was best for our clients and our company, and we ended up relocating here, in my old home town. That’s a good feeling,” says Czwakiel.
Cambridge officers at the new Command Center are using digital camera systems, a state-of-the-art communications network and a new satellite-driven tour system to communicate in real time, 24/7, with more than 3,500 police officers and 450 security companies all around the country.
“Our firm is at a very aggressive stage of growth and Newark is the ideal location to support this expansion and also offers us the opportunity to become an integral part of the rapid growth that is occurring in the technology and services industries here,” says Czwakiel.
Lyneir Richardson, president of the city’s development arm, Brick City Development Corp., comments: “The location and expansion of businesses such as Cambridge Security Services is an economic development accomplishment for Newark.” “Every day BCDC proactively competes for companies such as Cambridge Services and we are proud they selected a location in downtown Newark for their new headquarters, which is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for technology and service related firms.”
The city and BCDC have made attraction of technology-related firms a priority to take advantage of the city’s educational and technology infrastructure.
Czwakiel grew up in Newark, and says he is personally delighted to be bringing business to downtown. The company relocation will bring about 200 new jobs and Czwakiel said he is hoping to supply more security within the city and also recruit and hire from Newark.
The official grand opening of the company’s new Mulberry Street facility is today from 5-9 p.m.
