SAN DIEGO-Plans for a dual-branded hotel development in downtown San Diego have been approved by the Board of Port Commissioners. The California Coastal Commission will review the 400-room project, which is estimated to cost $115 million.

The development will include a 150-room hotel like a Homewood Suites and a 250-room hotel like a Hilton Garden Inn. It will come up on the former Lane Field ballpark site. A group that includes John Portman & Associates, Lankford & Associates and Phelps Development is developing the project. For the full story, go to San Diego Business Journal .
