The firm has brought on Jim McDevitt to serve as its new president. Based in the firm's Bethesda, MD headquarters, he will oversee Berkeley Point's day-to-day operations, including all production, underwriting and closing activities. Previously, McDevitt was an EVP and head of correspondent development for Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital.

Chief operating officer at Denver-based Archstone since 2007, Charles E. Mueller Jr. has been promoted to president while retaining his COO title. Mueller has held various leadership positions with Archstone since 1994, including CFO, a title he held since 1998 and continued to hold while serving as COO. R. Webster Neighbor has joined the firm to succeed Mueller as CFO. Neighbor was most recently SVP at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., and managed Lehman's investments in Archstone after the investment bank took it private in 2007.

The Canada-based services company, which is expanding aggressively through the US, is continuing to bulk up its new Manhattan office. The firm hired James Delmonte from Jones Lang LaSalle as principal and vice president of research and Elliot Baum from Colliers International as a principal and VP of marketing. Separately, George Kingsley was named principal and managing director at Avison Young's new Pittsburgh office. He will oversee the growth and development of Avison Young's presence in the region.

The Denver office of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC has hired Joe Brill as a senior vice president with the company's FHA division. With more than 20 years of mortgage banking experience, Brill will assist in the origination of FHA-insured loans for both multifamily and seniors housing properties.

Ed Alegre has joined Colliers International as president of valuation and advisory services in the US. Prior to joining Colliers, he served as executive managing director at Grubb & Ellis Landauer. He's based in the firm's Irvine, CA office. In the Midwest, Colliers International's Indiana region has appointed Glenn Davis as its Indianapolisbased president and managing director. Davis joined the company from Duke Realty this past December as a senior vice president.

The new Southeast Florida office of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC will be managed by Philip Carroll, who has joined the firm as an SVP. Based out of the Miami office, Carroll will focus on financing all types of income-producing properties in South Florida. Before joining Grandbridge, he was president at American Real Estate Capital, where he established the commercial mortgage lending group.

Scott Hall has joined HFF as a managing director in San Diego. He will specialize in hotel investment sales as well as hotel and resort equity and debt placement transactions. Before joining HFF, Hall worked for Lowe Enterprises as a vice president in the hospitality group and, most recently, in the real estate services group.

Samuel E. Knighton, chief operating officer at Interstate Hotels & Resorts, has been promoted to president and COO at the Arlington, VA-based management company. Knighton oversees global operations of the company's approximately 400 managed and owned hotels on three continents. With Interstate since 1990, he has held positions of increasing responsibility there.

Agency leasing veteran Mark Gunderson has joined J.F. McKinney & Associates as senior vice president and principal. The Chicago-based Gunderson will focus on new business development and specific office leasing assignments. In a 25-year career, Gunderson most recently served as an SVP at the John Buck Co. before joining J.F. McKinney.

The Lightstone Group, headquartered in New York City, has tapped Christian Gabrielsen as president of the company's securities division. He will oversee sales, marketing, and national accounts for Lightstone while continuing to build the development firm's presence in the market. Gabrielsen was EVP and national sales manager at Thompson National Properties, titles he previously held at Knight Capital/Clearbrook Financial. Lightstone has also bolstered its securities division with six new hires: Greg McGowan, senior vice president, Eastern sales; Brendan McLaughlin, SVP, Central sales; Matt Peoples and Josh Rubinger, vice presidents, national accounts; John Coon, regional VP, Southwest sales; and Kimberley Barry Duran, director of marketing.

Kenneth Szady has joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Capital Group as executive managing director, based in the firm's Chicago office. He was formerly with Cushman & Wakefield as an executive director and head of capital markets.

Patricia Morris is taking the chief real estate officer reins at Wells Real Estate Funds. On Aug. 21, she will replace Don Henry, who has decided to pursue new opportunities in the real estate sector after 10 years with the firm. Morris is stepping up from her current role as managing director of asset management at Wells in Norcross, GA. She oversees the team responsible for Wells Core Office Income REIT and other real estate programs.
