LONDON-Invesco Real Estate veteran Simon Mallinson has joined Real Capital Analytics' London office as executive managing director. According to Manhattan-based founder and president Robert White, Mallinson will be overseeing all European, Middle East and Asian operations.

In an interview with GlobeSt.com, White explains that “While we've had a presence in London for a number of years now, it's only been in the past year or two that we've really started to put down roots and grow our presence there. Simon is one of the pre-eminent researcher/strategists over there and has a keen understanding of what that the market needs and how RCA can address it.”

He adds that a European native, someone who gets the culture, is key to the post. “The differences between the US and European markets aren't simply just different terminology or classifications,” White commented.

The credentials are certainly solid. At Invesco, Mallinson headed the European research team. Prior to that, he did a stint at IPD, where he was charged with establishing IPD's presence in the US. White tells GlobeSt.com that that initiative made his name recognizable to stateside professionals.

”From my years working for IPD, I've been passionate about real estate data transparency and my time with Invesco has emphasized to me how important accurate, reliable and timely data is to the industry,” Mallinson said in a statement. “I look forward to helping drive the RCA EMEA business forward, delivering the services and products the industry needs.”

RCA executive MD Steve Williams will continue to support the EMEA team and will take on new responsibilities to further RCA's expansion into Asia and Latin America, the statement said.
