BALTIMORE-The fate of the nearly 28-acre, 3-million-square-foot Harbor Point project is now in the hands of the Baltimore City Council.
On Thursday evening, the Baltimore City Planning Commission unanimously approved plans for the project being led by former Harbor East developer Michael S. Beatty. The city had originally approved 1.8 million square feet of development at Harbor Point, but now has opted for the more expansive Beatty proposal, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
The development will be the site of the new headquarters for Exelon Corp. headquarters, which Beatty, the head of Beatty Development Group, LLC, said would be 350 feet tall. The Harbor Point plan calls for 9.5 acres of open space and 11.4 acres of buildings, with the remainder of the space devoted to a promenade and streets. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
