LANHAM, MD-Computer Sciences Corp. has given notice it plans to vacate its offices at 7900 Harkins Road here.
The move will take place by the end of this year as the Falls Church-based firm consolidates its corporate office space in the DC region, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The government contractor could retain operations in one or two floors of the 12-story, 325,000-square-foot building, says Brian Sullivan, a broker with Jones Lang LaSalle Inc., which has begun marketing the space to new tenants. The downsizing of space by CSC is due to the federal government's automatic budget cuts under sequestration. Earlier this month CEO Mike Lawrie told investors during a conference call that as part of an ongoing plan to cut expenses, CSC eliminated 8,000 positions during fiscal 2013 and plans to reduce its real estate footprint.
