HACKENSACK, NJ-Daibes Enterprises of Edgewater, NJ is acquiring the former headquarters of The Record on River Street here.
Fred Daibes, owner and CEO of Daibes Enterprises, says he is looking to build a mixed-use project at the site that would include more than 500 apartments and a hotel at the nearly 20-acre property, according to The Record. The property includes the former Record headquarters at 150 River St., the New Heritage Diner and the New Jersey Naval Museum. The transaction was announced on Monday by North Jersey Media Group, the publisher of The Record.
Daibes will be partnering with James Demetrakis of Edgewater-based Arilex Realty on the project. He did not disclose the sale price or the potential cost of the development.
“We think it's a good project and a good area to be developing in,” Daibes says. “We see Hackensack as the next Edgewater.” See story in The Record.
