CHICAGO-Google is adding another 32,000 square feet to its 572,000-square-foot lease for its Motorola Mobility unit at the Merchandise Mart here.

A company official confirms the expansion of the Mountain View, CA-based technology firm's commitment at the Mart. The company signed a lease last year for 572,000 square feet where it intends to move approximately 2,000 Motorola Mobility workers from Libertyville by early next year. In the past 12 months, Google has committed to more than 770,000 square feet of office leases in he Chicago area, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

Last week Google officials confirmed that the company's Chicago office would relocate to approximately 200,000 square feet at the former Fulton Market Cold Storage building that is now being redeveloped into office space. See story in Crain's Chicago Business.
