RICHMOND, VA-DoubleTree by Hilton and Sharmin Hotels Inc. announced today the opening of the former Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center as the new DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond-Midlothian.

The property is nearing the completion of a $6.5-million renovation that includes upgrades throughout the hotel's public spaces and guest rooms by the end of 2013. The complex now boasts upscale accommodations and the most expansive meeting and event space available at any hotel in Richmond-Midlothian, company officials state. Both the hotel and conference center are owned and managed by Shamin Hotels Inc.

“DoubleTree by Hilton is known for exceptional hospitality and a warm, caring culture. Our hotel is no exception to this standard; with approximately 75% of our senior management has been at the property for 15 years or more, we have a proven commitment to customer care, and are excited to be a part of a brand that embodies the principles we live by,” states Mike Watkins, general manager – DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian. “Guests can be assured they'll receive the high-quality service, amenities and atmosphere that they expect from the DoubleTree by Hilton name.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian unveiled today a redesigned lobby that features a waterfall and paintings and photography of the Richmond area that are displayed throughout the hotel's 237 guest rooms and public areas. The hotel features more than 26,000 square feet of meeting space that includes 19 total meeting rooms–the largest being 7,080 square feet. The attached conference center offers a variety of exhibit and gathering areas, including two ballrooms that, together, can seat up to 1,100 people.
