LEESBURG, VA-The offer by a developer to Loudoun County to lease up to 50,000 square feet to the county for the county's judicial system at its proposed office building project got a thumbs down from county staff.
Reston, VA-based L4 Capital Partners offered the county between 30,000 to 50,000 square feet of space at its proposed 110,560-square-foot Courthouse Square building at 9 E. Market St. in Leesburg. However, county staff has recommended to the Board of Supervisors it reject the offer, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The proposed deal, the staff writes in a report, does not meet the requirements of the education facilities act. It appears L4 "simply wants the county to lease space in that building," the report states.
The Board of Commissioners is expected to consider the staff recommendation at its meeting on Wednesday. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
