ATLANTIC CITY, NJ-An appellate court has ruled that The Atlantic Club is free to seek a new buyer even though it remains in litigation with spurned suitor and online gaming website PokerStars.
The court upheld a lower court decision issued last month, according to the Associated Press. The Atlantic Club terminated a proposed deal with PokerStars to acquire the casino on May 1 when the online gaming company failed to secure preliminary ownership approval from New Jersey casino regulators.
Michael Frawley, chief operating officer of The Atlantic Club, says in response to the court ruling, "Our intentions have, and will continue to be focused on the aggressive pursuit of New Jersey's emerging online gaming opportunities.” See story in the Press of Atlantic City.
