WASHINGTON, DC-The General Services Administration and Metro have struck a deal that could potentially lead to the relocation of a federal agency to land near the Branch Avenue Metro Station.
The agreement does not specify what agency might be moved to the Branch Avenue station area. Metro owns approximately 30 acres at the station in Camp Springs, MD. Metro is making about a quarter of that land available to the GSA for future real estate needs, according to the Washington Post.
“We are hoping this will have a catalytic effect on the area around it,” says Stanley Wall, director of real estate and station planning for Metro.
The real estate committee for Metro's board of directors is expected to vote on the measure today, and the full board could discuss the agreement at its July 25th session. See story in the Washington Post.
