PHILADELPHIA-Various brokerage firms covering the suburban markets of Philadelphia report that after some difficult times of late, office leasing activity picked up in the second quarter.

During the quarter, office space absorption totaled 233,610 square feet compared with 28,124 square feet during the first quarter, according to data compiled by CBRE Inc. Jones Lang LaSalle states that 10 of the 14 suburban markets it tracks experienced positive absorption in the second quarter, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“The first half of the year was dismal,” says CBRE's Daniel C. Dagit Jr. “It was dark and dismal at the end of the year and the end of the first quarter. Here at the second quarter we have some nice things to say.” See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
