PHILADELPHIA-Three development groups filed plans with the city earlier this week to convert the Family Court Building here into a luxury hotel.

The groups that have expressed interest in the project are Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, teaming up with Logan Square Holdings, a limited partnership that includes the Goldenberg Group of Philadelphia among its investors; Stamford, CT-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts, working with Philadelphia's Dranoff Properties and HRI Properties of New Orleans; and Kimpton Hotels, working with P&A Associates of Philadelphia and the Peebles Corp. of New York City, according to the Inquirer.

The review process for the redevelopment of the 72-year-old property at 18th and Vine streets is being managed by the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp. John Grady, president of the Philadelphia IDA, says the review process could run into the fall and agreement reached with a developer by the end of this year. See story in the Inquirer.
