NEWARK, NJ-The Hanini Group and L&M Development are expected to detail plans for the long-vacant Hahne's department store before the city's Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission tonight.

The development team is expected to reveal plans to convert the circa 1901 property into a mixed-use building that would include apartments on the upper three floors and retail outlets on the ground level, according to the Star Ledger.

The 440,000-square-foot building served as the flagship store for Hahne's until its closure in 1986. Beyer Blinder Belle of New York City is the lead architect on the project. See story in the Star Ledger.
