SADDLE BROOK, NJ-Alena Hospitality LLC, the new owner of the dilapidated former Holiday Inn in Saddle Brook off Route 80 here, plans to spend $10 million in renovations to the cylindrical-shaped hotel.
Nik Patel, CEO of Alena Hospitality LLC, says the shuttered 147-room, 12-story hotel will be rebranded as a Crowne Plaza Hotel when it opens next year in time for Super Bowl XLVIII in February, according to the Bergen County, NJ Record.
The Orlando, FL-based firm acquired the lease for the 97,000-square-foot Saddle Brook hotel in June for $1.6 million in cash and then acquired the property from United International Bank in Queens, NY for less than the $2.8-million asking price. See story in The Record.
