WASHINGTON, DC-International communications and information technology firm Harris Corp. is consolidating District area operations into Transwestern's 2235 Monroe St. building in the DC suburb of Herndon, VA.
The federal contracting firm signed an 11-year lese at Arboretum II for the entire 161,359-square-feet of office space at the property, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Harris spokesman Jim Burke says the move will involve approximately 600 employees that will be shifted from seven company locations across Northern Virginia. He adds the Herndon property will serve as the regional hub for the company's Integrated Network Solutions segment. The consolidation will be completed by the end of this year or by early 2014.
"By integrating the various operations into one centralized location we expect to realize increased synergies and collaboration," Burke says. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
