American Tennis Association Eyes Fort Lauderdale for Training Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-The American Tennis Association hopes to build a new $6-million training center here.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-The American Tennis Association hopes to build a new $6-million training center here.

The facility, to be located in the city's Sistrunk Boulevard area, will also feature a Black Tennis Hall of Fame. The training center will be designed by professional tennis superstar and owner of V*Star Interiors Venus Williams.

The ATA has not identified a site for the training center. The association hopes to have the training center, which will have 13 tennis courts, open in time for its 100th anniversary in 2016. The association plans to unveil the site plan and renderings Aug. 1. See story in the South Florida Business Journal.
