NEW YORK CITY-Werber Management has paid $37.75 million for 202 8th St. in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn.

The Queens-based construction and management company acquired the 12-story, 50,000-square-foot luxury rental building from JDS Development and Property Markets Group, according to The Real Deal. Massey Knakal Realty Services' Bob Knakal and Elysa Berlin brokered the transaction.

The 51-unit property, when originally built, was envisioned as a condominium development, but was completed as a rental project. The property is now nearly fully leased.

Benjamin Werber, a managing member of Werber Management, said the property, due to its high-end amenities, offers Brooklyn “rental tenants an opportunity to live in a very high-end condo product.” See story in The Real Deal.
