NEWARK, NJ-Former NBA superstar and Newark native Shaquille O'Neal returned to Newark Friday to help break ground on a new high-rise apartment project here.
O'Neal and partner Boraie Development of New Brunswick are developing a 23-story, 169-unit building on a waterfront site that once stored hops for Ballantine Ale, according to The Record.
In 2012, O'Neil helped open the Cineplex 12 movie theater in Newark after completing a $7-million renovation. The Star-Ledger reports that the new multifamily building will be the first constructed in Newark in the past 50 years. See story in The Record.
