PALO ALTO, CA-Simon Properties, the operator of Stanford Shopping Center, has submitted a plan to local officials for construction of four new buildings to accommodate changes in its retail mix.

New construction will take place at the site of the current Bloomingdale's, after that anchor store moves to smaller space, according to a report in the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

The changes also involve a move by Fleming's restaurant, which has already move to a newly constructed space. The Journal also notes that new tenants are expected to include Palo Alto Creamery and an Anthropologie shop.

The four new buildings will total 140,000 square feet, and the mall's total square footage will remain at 1.475 million.
