WASHINGTON, DC-The General Services Administration reports it will allow its lease to expire at the end of the year at Lincoln Square here.

GSA spokesman Dan Cruz says the GSA no longer needs space in the building for federal agencies in the region and added that the agency will not renew its lease for about 48,000 square feet when its term expires on Dec. 31. The GSA has leased the space at the 406,000-square-foot building for the FBI and is the building's second-largest tenant, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The news comes after a report from Morningstar Credit Ratings LLC that debt on the Lincoln Square property was recently transferred to a special servicer for “imminent default.” See story in the Washington Business Journal
