RALEIGH, NC-The first dirt was turned on Wednesday on the 23-story SkyHouse Raleigh apartment tower here.
At the groundbreaking ceremony held at Moore Square Park in downtown Raleigh, lead developer Jim Borders, president of Novare Group, said that construction on the 320-unit building would be completed in a year, according to the Triangle Business Journal.
“About a year from now, people will be moving in across the street,” Borders said. “When we started developing this concept in 2011, I knew I wanted to be able to build it in a year. It's too hard to see four years down the road.”
The firm has already started six other SkyHouse multi-family projects in Georgia, Florida and Texas. The Raleigh project at Martin and Blount streets is expected to create 500 construction jobs and 50 permanent jobs upon completion. See story in the Triangle Business Journal.
