WEST CHESTER, PA-A retail property that had been the former home of a Simon Pearce restaurant and glass blowing business was sold to a local medical device firm.

The property at 1332 Lenape Road was sold to Sklar Instruments for $1.15 million after being on the market for almost three years, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. The building, which sits on 4.5 acres and includes 5,087 square feet of retail space and a 150-seat restaurant, was originally listed at $3.2 million.

Sklar's offices here are currently housed at 889 S. Matlak St. However, the company plans to relocate sometime next year to its newly acquired 27,948 square-foot building after it converts it to office space.

“They picked the site because it was big enough, had a lot of parking and they were looking for cool space,” said Phil Earley of Lieberman Earley & Co., who arranged the sale along with colleague JoAnn West. “They didn't want 'Plain Jane.' ” See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
