FORT WASHINGTON, MD-Greenwood Racing, one of the bidders for a casino license in Prince George's County, has amended its Parx Casino Hotel & Spa proposal to fully fund the design and construction of two key interchanges adjacent to its project here.

Greenwood had previously offered $100 million or half of the cost for the design and construction for grade-separated interchanges at Indian Head Highway and Old Fort Road, and at Indian Head Highway and Livingston/Palmer roads. The last-minute change would now fully fund the road projects, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The new offer comes after a consultant's report to the Maryland Video Lottery Terminal Location Commission found that MGM Resorts International's bid for MGM National Harbor was a better deal for the state than the Greenwood Racing's Parx Casino and Penn National Gaming's casino project to be built at Rosecroft Raceway.

The commission is expected to make its selection on Dec. 20. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
