SEATTLE-Developer Holland Partners of Vancouver, WA, has spent $80 million for a 5.5 acre redevelopment site where it plans to build 800 apartments in a phased project.
The project could also include hotel and office buildings, according to a report in the Seattle Times.
The property, between Westlake Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North, includes three buildings. The seller was Equity Office Properties, Chicago.
The South Lake Union area includes one of most expensive office buildings in the city—202 Westlake.
Amazon.com anchors the neighborhood, and recent expansions have meant that thousands of employees are looking for apartments.
