WASHINGTON, DC-Gallaudet University, which is looking for a partner to help it build a mixed-use development on the western side of its campus here, announced on Thursday it had reduced its search down to four possible firms.
Fred Weiner, Gallaudet assistant vice president, said the school is now considering: DC-based developer Akridge, The JBG Cos., PN Hoffman, and Urban Atlantic, according to the Washington Post. A selection of a partner for the development will be made next year, a school official stated.
Gallaudet is the only university in the nation tailored exclusively for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Gallaudet is looking develop land it owns the along Sixth Street NE, into a mixed-use development that could help integrate its students with the surrounding neighborhood.
