MIAMI-While still accounting for about half of the condominium construction development that occurred in the last condo building boom (2003-2010), condo development is once again in vogue in South Florida.

During the 2003-2010 building boom, there were approximately 49,000 condo units built in South Florida, according to the Miami Herald. Thanks to a surge in proposed projects in the last six months, the current condo development pipeline since construction began on the first condo tower 18 months ago, now stands at 24,500 units in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, according to CraneSpotters.com.

Broken down by county, Miami-Dade accounts for 79% or nearly 19,500 condos of the current condo development pipeline, followed Palm Beach at 11% or 2,725 proposed units. See story in the Miami Herald.
