DALLAS-Developer Fairfield Investment Co. is ready to begin work on a 267-unit West End apartment community in downtown Dallas.
The rental project will cover almost three acres, currently mostly a parking lot, on Houston Street at Ross Avenue. The six-story buildings are designed by Corgan Associates to conform to the the surrounding historic district, according to a recent report in the Dallas Morning News.
“We are going to start environmental work for the project right away,” Fairfield senior vice president Ted Bradford told the paper. “The first apartment units will most likely be ready in mid-2015.
“We think it will be a big thing for the West End, which has been somewhat stagnant.”
Fairfield began planning work in 2011 to develop the site, and has received financial incentives from the city to redevelop the parcel, which had once been a railroad depot.
