CHARLOTTE-Electrolux Major Appliances North America reports it will build an $85-million addition to its building in University Research Park here.
The 375,000-square-foot addition, once completed by the end of 2017, will bring 810 new jobs to Charlotte.
“What it really means is that we care for jobs in the city and we care for jobs in the region,” said North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory at a press conference at the 90-acre campus on Friday.
The new positions will be in research and development, design, engineering, sales and marketing and executive management, says Jack Truong, CEO of Electrolux. The company moved its major appliance unit's headquarters from August, GA to Charlotte in 2010. See story in the Charlotte Business Journal.
