BLUFFTON, SC-Crescent Communities says it will be spending more than $100 million on an expansion of its Palmetto Bluff resort here.
The expansion project by the Charlotte, NC-based real estate firm will include 150 luxury rooms in a number of buildings at the property, a spa and fitness center, meeting and special event facilities, and expanded dining facilities for guests and Palmetto Bluff property owners, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.
“Crescent is thrilled to announce this significant investment to consecrate Palmetto Bluff as the quintessential Southern experience,” Todd Mansfield, CEO of Crescent Communities, stated. “Since Crescent began development of Palmetto Bluff in 2000, it has remained a flagship property for us, setting the standard for how we envision and plan communities across the country. This property and the expansion we are announcing today is a great example of how we create unique experiences of the highest quality for those who live, work and play in our communities.”
The company also announced it has hired Montage Hotels & Resorts as the new operator of the property effective Feb. 1, 2014. The Athens Group will be the development partner on the expansion project. See story in the Charlotte Business Journal.
