NEW YORK CITY-The New York City Economic Development Corp. and the city's Department of Health have issued a joint request for proposals for the redevelopment of a 14-story building into bioscience research space.
The property at 455 First Ave. in the Kips Bay section of Manhattan is located near Bellevue Hospital Center, NYU Langone Medical Center and the Alexandria Center for Life Sciences, according to Crain's New York Business. The refurbished facility located between 26th and 27th streets will help to meet the demand for more lab space in the city.
"The project's focus on attracting developers and tenants for medical research will build on the considerable momentum building behind New York City bioscience," the request for proposals states. See story in Crain's New York Business.
