CHICAGO-Technology giant Google Inc. is increasing its leased space at its new facility at 1000 W. Fulton Market.
The Mountain View, CA-based firm has exercised options and is adding 52,000 square feet to its original lease of 200,000 square feet. The company announced in June it was relocating its Chicago office from River North to the Fulton Market property in the Meatpacking District in 2015, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
Chris Cassata, senior vice president with CBRE Inc., who handles leasing at the W. Fulton Market property, confirmed that Google was now intending to occupy larger quarters at the former Fulton Market Cold Storage building that is being redeveloped by owner Sterling Bay Cos.
